State agency rules Moxie Mania, played in 300 WNY bars, is illegal

Moxie Mania, the slot-machine like game recently installed in 300 bars in the Buffalo area, is a gambling device and not legal in New York State, commissioners of the State Liquor Authority ruled today.

Two of the three commissioners said they found the machines were not games of skill, as the manufacturer has claimed, but instead games of chance, and thus illegal.
